This easy-to-use discussion and conversation textbook is perfect for intermediate-level students but can also be used with high beginner – low-intermediate students. Each unit in What Do You Think? begins with an introduction reading of the topic followed by a Main Discussion Question where students make a choice or offer an opinion. After engaging with classmates in various pair work and groupwork activities, students are asked to reevaluate their original choice and/or opinion on the topic by completing a short in-class assessment. The in-class assessment gives students a chance to demonstrate their understanding of the topic using new language from the text as well as their own, but also serves to reinforce the idea that opinions often change when we have more information (through discussion and conversation) on a topic.
